Fall is my favorite season along the river as it runs through the Snake River Canyon. As I watch the reflection of the leaves in the flat waters of the river a power boat travels by creating this wake of color.
Caldron Linn-Snake River, Idaho
Caldron Linn first appears in history when the Pacific Fur Company and Austrians reported "that death struck without warning when one of the dugouts was capsized, at a place they named Caldron Linn" in 1811.
These burnt trees remain standing many years after a large forest fire traveled through the area. Growth among the dead trees signals a change, new trees, Bruch, and colorful plants begin anew.

Redfish Lake is one of the largest of several hundred alpine lakes located in the Sawtooth National Recreation Area. The combination of the cold mountain air and lake water caused a mist over the lake as the warm light of dawn makes its appearance on the peaks above. So cold I could watch the morning frost form on my camera's lens hood!
